Food tasty but not in any way outstanding that we could see. Maybe bacon pieces were long and thick compare to some other places. Their scrambled eggs are bit odd? velvety for lack of better term - consistancy that I personally didn't like Place has nice character, in and outdoor seating. Several times we visited always a wait. They do take/call names. This time took about 45 minutes to get seated and another 15 to get served food. People waiting to get seated did get antsy.

Best Corned Beef Hash in the world. Great food overall, be prepared to wait, but it's totally worth it.

A wonderful breakfast place! I had the farm scramble with spinach, mushrooms,feta and avocado... It was delicious! My husband had the buttermilk pancake... It was light and fluffy and also delicious. Always a wait on Sunday but well worth it!

What a treat! We came up from San Rafael and our meeting was delayed so we stopped in to grab a bite. Super nice folks, total warm diner feel and a good solid breakfast (with sausage links that were extra delicious!)Cheerful Chef, attentive waitress and a great breakfast. Enjoy!!

I can see why this place was voted Best Breakfast in Novato! The food is great! Despite having an entire tray of water spilled on me during the first visit, I think its a great place! The breakfast portions are huge, the eggs were cooked just as I asked and the staffers were attentive.

My mind is happy I found this place, my heart not so much. Best diner food I've had in a while. Great portion sizes, reasonable prices and the staff are super friendly. Try the ice tea, it's nothing special but really tasty. The burgers are great in addition to all of the breakfast options. Too bad they are only open until 2pm.

The atmosphere was welcoming and their staffs were friendly. Their service was fast and they have good portions. Their corned beef hash omelette was the best.

The food is good. But the server's are very rude.. and bad attitude...specially a lady with green eyes tall light brown hair. ... very bad costumer service. .

I have always loved this place. since I was 3 years old now I am 42 thats 39 years of great service, great food, and great times. My breakfast favorite. Great meat and fresh veggie options.

It's breakfast at it's best. Big portions of the foods you crave on a weekend. The eats are fantastic, the staff super friendly and the coffee is bottomless.

Great place for breakfast! My wife and I have eaten here a few times and enjoyed the excellent food and service. Interior seating is a little small, but they have a lot of outside seating - good for warm, sunny days! The service is superb; besides the usual attentiveness, the last time we were there we sat outside and our waiter noticed that the sun was directly on us and offered to bring out an umbrella to shade us - very thoughtful! As far as food, I usually go for the pancakes and my wife goes for an omlette, which she ranks as tops in Marin.

This place was super busy, took about an hour to get our food but we were in no hurry. It was worth the wait, the food was good. Looks like it is usually busy here.

My wife and I are visiting the area for a friend's wedding and decided to venture out for breakfast. When we showed up, the place was bustling and there was about a 20-25 minute wait for a table. We opted to sit at the counter. Every plate that went by us, we were trying to figure out which item it was on the menu, we settled with the Hollywood Benedict and the biscuits and gravy. The Benedict can either come with regular hollandaise sauce or spicy. We went with spicy, but wished we had gone with regular. The spicy sauce seemed to be more tomato based and since the Hollywood came with plenty of tomatoes it was overkill, but otherwise they food was delicious and prompt.

Great food and excellent service. Only reason for 4 stars is that it can get very crowded. Seems to be a popular spot. I ate outside and the sun hit my table just as I sat down. The server had an umbrella brought to my table. Like I said, excellent service. If a large crowd doesn't bother you this place is 5 of 5

This is small but popular place for breakfast. I was there on sunday morning for breakfast and it was packed. It has a very relaxed feel to it. The food is very good. It also has sitting outside.

I visit this place from time to time! This is my favorite spot to grab a bite. I go to this spot frequently. The cooking is excellent, the staff is helpful and the price is fair. I enjoy eating in this restaurant over a nice meal.

One of the best breakfast places I have ever eaten. Hands down my favourite place from now on for breakfast. Eggs benedict are just ro die for! Waffles are amazing and customer service is great. Very busy due to the awesomenss of the place. On the weekend the line is big so I come only on weekdays and enjoy the morning. They open very very early so its everyone should at least try this place once. I absolutely live it and recommend this place to everyone I know!

Marvin's is the best breakfast option downtown Novato. Good food, friendly service. But be warned, indoor seating is limited. If you get there early you'll be fine. Later in the morning you can enjoy the sidewalk tables.

Great cornbeef and even had for leftover and it was still good! Need to try when in Novato.

Once I found it, the place is perfect - a time capsule of a 20th century diner. The server was informative and lovely - made time to let me know about the history of the joint.Locals love it - I recommend it highly IF you can find an open table!

Great place to grab breakfast in old town Novato. Cute restaurant with lots of charm, definitely a local favorite. The staff knows customer's name and favorite foods. The Juliet Benedict is so yummy, home made corn beef hash with spicy hollandaise sauce!

Four of us had breakfast at Marvin's recently. It was a warm day, we sat outside under a large umbrella and the food and service were terrific. We all had egg dishes and each was cooked perfectly, including scrambled light and fluffy, poached and over medium. Hash browns and crisp bacon were excellent as well and coffee cups were refilled regularly. Four thumbs up from us!

Great place for breakfast if you're passing through. Food is fresh and you get a good size portion for what you pay.

I love this place. I don’t think there is a better breakfast in the world! Absolutely the best Eggs Benedict’s I have ever had. I love it love it love it!I honestly think that if you try it once, you would want to eat anything else for breakfast :)5 stars and up! Wish there were more places like that. I've been eating her for years. I no longer live in the area, and really miss the food and atmosphere! I would recommend getting in early so you don't have to wait in line. I'll be there for breakfast next time I'm in town!

Great spot! Had to roll early to beat traffic for a meeting and wound up downtown with some time. Super friendly service. Sat at counter. Can’t remember the last time I read the actual paper. They’ve got them for you. In fact, not one phone was out so I tucked mine away and enjoyed the time. Corned Beef Hash, potatoes, scrambled, and rye toast. Homemade and really well done. Every dish I saw go out of the open kitchen was piping hot and served immediately. Yum.

Love this place. Friendly staff. Working in the industry, I love seeing solid teamwork between Front and Back of house. And with the kitchen laid out for all to see, you can witness the amazing teamwork first hand.Food is delicious. I have only eaten breakfast here but I know they have quite a few Lunch options. Julia Benedict and Marvin's Scramble are my favs. And they are massive portions. 90% of the time I cant finish all my food and have to pass it to my partner or package it up for the next day. Which by the way their food holds up well the next day. Still full of flavor.Cant beat the price for the portions. I truly feel bad for anyone who has had a bad experience here. Very rarely do restaurants get it right 100% of the time. But Marvin's has never let me down. For the few who have posted bad reviews, I hope they give it a second try because I'm sure things have changed.
